LogTTY

privacy / updated 20 August 2026

LogTTY processes diagnostic evidence on your devices.

This policy applies to LogTTY for macOS, iPhone, and iPad. LogTTY has no account system, advertising, tracking, analytics SDK, developer backend, or automatic crash-reporting service.

01

Automatic Mac collection

LogTTY reads the current app's Apple unified-log error and fault entries, redacts common secrets and identifiers, and stores bounded incident aggregates rather than raw messages. The Live Digest keeps at most 2,000 incidents for seven days. Broad Diagnostic Access is an explicit, bounded system-log snapshot and may remain unavailable when macOS does not grant access.

02

Mac imports

When you explicitly select a .logarchive, LogTTY copies it into its Application Support folder and records import metadata, raw portable log records, derived events, and incidents. Imports have no automatic expiry. The original archive remains under your control. To remove retained Mac imports, quit LogTTY and remove its Application Support data; uninstalling the app alone may not remove that folder.

03

iPhone and iPad evidence

On iOS, LogTTY records app-owned log category, level, and time while withholding raw messages. It can show coarse network-path status, low-power and thermal state, and total or available storage. It does not read SSIDs, IP addresses, location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or a persistent device identifier.

04

Mobile imports and deletion

You may select bounded .ips, .json, .log, or .txt files. LogTTY reads them through Apple's file access and does not copy the originals. It retains one sanitized aggregate containing the application name, selected filename, timestamps, counts, severity, and incidents; a later import replaces it. Reset settings and collected data clears that aggregate and local settings. Uninstalling removes the app container but cannot erase original files or Apple-owned logs.

05

Network and sharing boundary

LogTTY has no developer API, analytics endpoint, socket relay, or active CloudKit synchronization. Apple's network-path monitor observes connection state without contacting a probe destination. A Share action sends a Markdown digest only to the destination you choose; that destination's policy then applies.

06

Website and support

This site does not use marketing analytics. Its hosting infrastructure may process routine request data needed to deliver and protect the site. Email and attachments you choose to send are used to answer and investigate your request. Remove private log data before sending diagnostics. You may request deletion of support correspondence at the address below.

LogTTY is operated by East Coast Science LLC. Privacy questions and support-correspondence deletion requests can be sent to dev@eastcoastscience.com. This policy was last updated on 20 August 2026.
